Fake military romance scammer asked me to send $500

I was contacted on Facebook by a man calling himself Col. Robert Adams, in search of romance. We talked for about a week, every day, and he sent pictures of himself and his child. He gave me a Lifetime-movie account of his life as an orphan and of his wife overdosing. He said he fell head over heels for me and wanted to get married and meet me.

Eventually he contacted me with a story about how his wallet was stolen and he needed me to send him $500 to keep him and his child afloat until he could get things sorted out. He provided Ria/Western Union information to send the money to. I researched it and figured out he was a Nigerian scammer.

These people are using or stealing people's pictures from Facebook or other sites, pretending to be US servicemen in search of love. Horrible. Beware!
