Older Woman's Proposition Reached My Son at Public Library

I am all about freedom of speech, but I could not believe what my son received via Facebook the other day. It was a straight-up proposition from an older woman to "meet for coffee and more..."

I knew MySpace was like that, but I figured Facebook was a bit more "educated." I guess all of the social networking sites are like this. When I found out that he had accessed it at the public library, I knew I had lost my battle as a parent. You just can't police everything they do, and the net opens up all kinds of new avenues for them to explore.

It's a scary time to be raising a child. Facebook doesn't really help in that area much.
