Unknown $309 Credit Card Charge, Card Cancelled and Investigated

A charge of $309 appeared on my Credit card statement and I have no idea what is was for. Contacted the credit card company who cancelled my card and are now investigating the transaction. Looks like a big scam, no idea how they got my credit card numbe
