I was searching for a new phone provider and heard about Lingo on the Internet. Decided I would give them a try.

Long story short - it was a complete pain to try and set up the account. Finally they called me and said they could not set up the account unless I FAXed them some more information. I told them to forget about it and went with another provider.

When the Lingo start up package arrived, I went down to the post office and returned the equipment certified mail without even opening the package. No account, no equipment - end of story right? Wrong.

Lingo had all my personal information from when I tried to set up the account. So even though there was never a set up or an account, my debit card was being charged for both use of the account and a reactivation fee.

Lingo at first would not cancel "my account" because I did not have an account number. Eventually I had to cancel the debit card to stop the fraudulent charges. My account # was on the email they sent me for the reactivation charge. So then I called to cancel since I had an account number. Now they will not cancel "my account" because I cannot verify the debit card number that was turned back into the back and shredded.

Although I have never used Lingo and never had an account with them, they refuse to deal honestly with me. My recommendation is never even consider them. Once they have your information, they will use it just like an identity thief.
