Scam artist, wanted you to donate money to send Troops Overseas Magazines

Some lady walked up to my husband who was out in the yard, i was at neighbors house watching the whole thing from distance.

She asked him to donate some money to send magazines to the troops overseas. He asked me for money, I refused. So he wrote her a check. I stopped payment on check next day. I knew something was fishy. She claimed she lived in "X" city, well thats an hour from where we are. She walked door to door, no cars. She never came to see us at the neighbors. Seemed like she targeted men.

Salesperson said she was 3rd in a contest and if she sold so many magazines she could win a trip to France or some foreign country.

She did give a receipt which had this Nation's Top Sales on it and i researched on BBB to find an "F" rating
