This report is written to inform consumers of the bait and switch tactics used by Zip Car They advertise that your rental includes free gas, no insurance payment, etc. But what they don't tell you is that their main source of revenue is based on $50.00 late fees that are charged to your card for being a few minutes late. They will rent the car or truck before your time expires and before you can notify them that you may requir additional time.

They impose a $50.00 fine on your card. Compare what they charge per hour to rent versus the $50.00 late fee and you will see what I mean. After they steal $50.00 from your account, then they tell you that you can set up a service where they will notify you a half hour before your time expires. They are playing the old percentage game and getting rich by ripping consumers off.
