Some lady called me out of the blue today and said she was with the federal government and said my name was selected randomly to receive a federal grant of $8400. I was very skeptical but ended up giving her my bank account information anyway. She gave me a number to call, 202-609-7042, for Kelvin Smith. She explained that he would let me know what I needed to do to have the money transferred to my account.By the way, she had a very thick French accent. I called the number and to my surprise, a Kelvin Smith did answer the phone. He had a very thick German accent. He explained that in order to receive my money, I would have to pay a processing fee of $250. At this point, I finally decided that this must be a scam. I told him I would like to do a little more research on this before I committed to giving him any money. He told me I could call back anytime within the next 3 months, and I hung up the phone. I did not lose any money, however, I am very concerned about the fact that they have my account information. Luckily, I do not keep very much money in that account. Be careful... Like they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
