In 2008 I purchased a King mattress set from Rooms to go in Orange Park, Florida for over $2,000.00 which had a 10 year warranty. At the time of purchase the sales clerk stated that the mattress was an excellent item and I would have no problems with it. For the past few months I have been experiencing a lot of back pains from the mattress. The mattress has several noticeable depressions in it. Over the weekend on the 10th of March, I visited the rooms to go store on Phillips Hwy and explained the problem to them; I was told that a technician would call me on Monday the 12th, to set up a time to come see the mattress. On the morning of the 12th I received a call from Rooms to go representative informing me that the company they purchased the mattress from is no longer in service and they could not send a technician to my house because the warranty was invalid. I explained to the lady that I did not purchase the mattress from that company; I purchased it from Rooms to go. She said “I apologize but there is nothing we could do.” I waited until I got home and called the customer service number” 800-766-6786, and spoke with Tabatha, she also said there was nothing they could do because the company they purchased it from went out of business. Again I explained to her that I did not purchase the merchandise from that company, I purchased it from Rooms to go. Still waiting to speak with a supervisor. I ask her if there was any compensation that they could offer, because now I have to purchase a new mattress, because of a defect in the year old mattress they sold me. Basically as a customer I based my purchase on the expert knowledge of the Rooms to go sales clerk.
