RE: Possible rental/foreclosure scam?
We rented the property from alleged property manager? How do i know if this man is who he say he is?
I dont want this to happen to noone. Everyone should get a real estate agent even if renting. No referral without research.
My name is Tracie Steadman. Our home was going into foreclosure because me and my husband lost our jobs due to economy. I had a stroke in October. My husband thought it would be smart to rent a home before our home foreclosed and a place i could recover, peacefully, A new start.
We paid the deposit and first rent 11/26. He only gave us lease, receipt and no keys. He said he had to change locks but he went out of town without giving us keys. That was the only time my husband could take off (Thanksgiving Week). We had no keys. My husband took a day off the next week to move and was fired (my husband felt it was something fishy about this whole deal).
FORECLOSURE NOTICES - Three weeks later, we receive foreclosure notices. I contacted the banks lawyer (johnson&freedman for jp morgan chase) and atlanta daily report to discover foreclosure. The bank's lawyer advised me to move out, no foreclosure protection in GA. Now the Property Manager is insisting the house did not go into foreclosure. He manages properties for the bank. Requesting possible renew of lease.
I love this house.
