On Sunday, Feb. 26th, I bought a Garmin Nuvi 2595. The Quick Start Manual instructed me to register my GPS. I followed the instructions (plugged in the power cable from the device to my computer) and was instructed to go to the Garmin website. When I did this, the website page opened on Just Answer. I was instructed to authorize a payment in order to register my GPS. Although this seemed unfair, I was willing to spend up to $30 to be able to use my device. I authorized $23, asked my question and then got a run around. After some time, I gave up and tried to get a refund from Just Answer. The 888 number was answered by a woman who heard me out and said (in words to this effect) that she lamented the fact that I was not satisfied, but unfortunately, their "system was down" and informed me I might call back in an hour or so, or that someone would call me. I asked for the name of the company CEO and the company address, but she said she did not have that information. That was Monday afternoon. No one called. On Tuesday morning, I again called their 888 number and spoke to a man who politely apologized for my "inconvenience, " but regretted that their system was down and that someone would call me so that my refund could be processed. When I asked this person for the address the company and the name of the CEO, he said that he did not have that information. I then asked to speak to a supervisor, and the call was transferred to another person who identified himself as a customer service representative who would immediately take care of my complaint and facilitate a refund. He asked for my email and name and assured me all would be well. He would deal with the matter immediately and I would receive an email confirming that this had been done. As of Tuesday evening, I have not received any notification that my credit card has been reimbursed. $23 is not the issue. The Garmin corporation person with whom I spoke informed me that they would never send a customer to a Just Answer website. At this point I am worried that my credit card has been compromised. Can you help me?
