I was shopping for laptops today. I found the best price for the model I was looking for on a website called www.lovbuy.com

Because the price was so good, I decided to see if I could find some customer reviews on the net. I found NOTHING that was not hosted on lovbuy's own website, and the funny thing about those reviews is that for several products, the same review - right down to the wording was found on numerous products and the poster was always Anonymous. My suspicions being raised, I clicked on the "contact us" link and sent an email to simply express my concerns. I asked if they could point me to something on the web that would put my mind at ease.

The reply I received was a very polite, apologetic email assuring me that they are a great company who has great deals on right now which will end soon (of course), and that if I wire-transfer the money, they ship very quickly. He told me I could only use PayPal for transactions over $2000 which I found very odd since PayPal provides both the Buyer and the Seller with certain protections. A few more emails back and forth later, and I was convinced it was a fraud.

I continued to be shocked that I could find no one on the web complaining about lovbuy.com. Finally, I looked up the WhoIs information for the domain and found out it was registered by Feifei Shop Inc. Through a Registrar called Xin Net Technology Corporation. The registrar was the key. I found several negative things written about them on the web, and eventually found another website that was registered by Feifei Shop Inc. Called wbdeal.com. When Googled for wbdeal.com combined with the word "scam", I found a number of people complaining about having lost their money.

Lovbuy.com was registered in August and is set to expire a year later. I want to be careful not to be libel and make false accusations. The above is simply a synopsis of what I did today to put my own mind at ease before purchasing. As you can see, I found nothing that made me at all comfortable, and that is why you see zero dollars in the Monetary Damages section.

I suppose this is more of a Buyer Beware message. Be careful out there!!
