I was trying to sell furniture for $300.00. John sent me an email
saying he wanted to buy my stuff but I needed to set up a PayPal
account. Next, he emailed saying he was sending $550.00. The
first $300 was for the furniture, the next $200 was for a Western Union transfer for shipping, the remaining $50 was for Western Union Transfer Fees. He asked me to wire $200 to Octavius Shotwell
in Chicago to pay for shipping. This was all backed up by several
very genually appearing emails from PayPal. They indicated the $550
would be released to my PayPal account once proof of my $200 wire
was received by PayPal. I contacted PayPal, they said they have NO
relationship with Western Union & the emails were NOT from them.
