Received a text message claiming I had won a $1,000 gift from BestBuy. When I went to the online address, I was spun into a scam to fill out a survey, which asked me to enter the PIN that had been texted to me. I noted on the PIN text that there was also information on a cellphone trivia service for $9.99. When I entered the stop code for that service, the survey and gift card disappeared. Definitely false advertising as the original text definitely said "You have won..." and made no mention of a purchase or any kind of participation required.interestingly enough, the original text also disappeared from my cell phone, leaving no proof of what was originally sent to me. I don't expect to be charged for the trivia service, but will watch my AT&T bill to make sure it doesn't show up.
