Unexpected Tax Charged on Big Mac and Fries Certificates

I bought a booklet of 5 Big Mac certificates and 5 Large Fries. When I ordered 2 Big Macs and 2 LG fries they said it would be 1.50 tax on each burger and a 1.00 tax on each fries plus a. 47 tax on the whole order (a. 89 cent coffee and 1.69 soda). They said that's how the register rang it up.
