My wife received a pop-up ad telling her that her computer had a horrible virus. This ad offered to eliminate the virus and protect her computer for a year. She tried everything she could to eliminate that ad but it locked her computer up. Finally in desperation, she paid for the virus protection program and was able to use her computer again.
