On Saturday 02/04, I was watching a TV ad for MagicJack Plus, which stated that it was "100 % risk free for 60 days. No out-of-pocket fees would be charged." I signed up and was informed (by automated voice) that the equipment woud not arrive for 10 - 14 days. On Monday (today), 02/06, I received and e-mail that has the following information:

On the site, there is no access to a live person, only through their live chat. I opened a session to get information and got "Paul." Here is the transcript:

Paul: we do not 60 days trial in magicjack Paul: we do only 30 day trial Paul: we do only have 30 day trial for magicjack plus and magicjack device Leo: I have received an e-mail confirming that I will be paying for the 5 year service BEFORE I even get my equipment, or the 60 day trial period. I find that very offensive as I haven't even started! Leo: Then why id the TV ad stating 60 days... Leo: Also, I don't feel I should pay for ANYTHING before the trial period is done. This is a bait and switch Paul: as i said we do not have 60 days trial on Magicjack? Leo: There is another company that is selling this product, then? I will be following up with the BBB on this, if your statement is untrue. I will be checking with the TV ad again to confirm this. Paul: I believe that I have already provided you all the information needed; I would like to ask permission to end this conversation with you. Thank you. As noted in the chat, the operator clearly bypassed any reference to the billing issue and ended the chat deliberately with his statement that he 'provided you all the information needed", after which he ended the chat without seeking my feedback. Clearly, the site seeks to rip off the consumer as there is no recourse for the consumer to get any clarification, nor did the main question pertaining to the billing get any response.
