Got a text message from Phonetrials saying they were looking for 1000 people to try the new iPhone 5; makes it look as if Apple is soliciting subjects for trial. I (foolishly, it seems) responded; didn't get anything back about testing an iPhone, but immediately received a whole bunch of emails from product promotional sites, which I've had to individually unsubscribe to. Some make it impossible to unsubscribe. I've also been receiving W Magazine, which I did not subscribe to. I contacted Apple and Verizon, both of which denied sending the message; question is, how is this outfit getting the phone number of iPhone users to send these texts? STEER CLEAR if you receive one of these messages—they will cause you lots of aggravation and time as you de-attach from this tar baby!
