I wish it were all a dream. I needed to go to Abuja and subsequently logged on to Arik website to get a reservation. On the live chat inscribed on the Arik website, I chatted with the operator who took my phone number and called back. He offered me a ticket for £350. His name was rather strange: Kim Jonathan. I guess the fraudsters mimicked the name of the current Nigerian President. The fraudsters were so organised and I was totally convinced. The accent was Korean/Pakistani and he (Kim Jonathan) kept on calling me without a break. Being a Lawyer, I did my due diligence and searched for the company registration online and confirmed it to be a registerd UK company. I decided to pay the amount. Once I paid the money, the bargaining power shifted and I had to be pursuing him on phone calls.
He told me that the flight had been cancelled and that he would reshedule me for another flight on 2/02 at the same amount I had paid. He never sent the ticket. I called to get my ticket and he told me to pay another sum of £200 to get a rescheduled reservation. Then I realised something was wrong because he sounded on phone like I was a real stranger he was talking with for the first time. I reported the matter to the Police, ATOL, Bankers I made payments to and uptill this moment, I wonder what will become the fate of a student who has just completed school and used her last cash to book a flight, home. I am trapped in the UK with no money to return home. How could a registered UK company commit fraud with such effrontery, confidence and disgust? Are the authourities doing anything about EMAAN LIMITED. Readers... Beware!
