Michael Thornton, 41, of Union City, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to tax fraud, admitting he prepared numerous returns using fraudulent and misleading information. The deception included inflating incomes and lying about deductions to obtain higher refunds.

"This fraudster guaranteed large returns without seeing any information, filed returns without showing them to the taxpayers, failed to identify himself as the preparer on the returns, and had refund checks deposited in his personal bank account, all as part of a scheme to steal hundreds of thousands in illegitimate tax refunds, said U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates.

For the 2005 and 2006 tax years, Thornton filed more than 340 returns, claiming $1.8 million in false items and cheating the government out of nearly $320,000, federal authorities say. He charged between $150 and $650 for each return.

Thornton, who will be sentenced Sept. 6, faces a possible maximum sentence of three years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.

They have NO LEGAL RIGHTS to even state in a telephone conversation they have4 or will get a WARRANTY. We found out that they have no authority. They are NOT Attorneys, hold NO LICENSES as IOnvestigators, and... We know that any Collection Agency must Bond & Insure their Collectors. We found NO RECORD of any BONDING COMPANY Bonding their employees. That alone can get them shut down. No... These Morons are working out of a house or a boiler room mass prodice environment. Should they call you... The Georguia Law says you can record the converasation. Georgia is one State that you do not need dual permission to record a telephone conversation.

In addition... Contact The Federal Trade Commission (COMPLAINT).. As well as The County District Attorney. Then, file a complaint with The State Attorney General. Then file another complaint with The Departme4nt of Financial Regulations in Atlanta, Georgia. Then, File another complaint with The Secretatry of State Division of Corporations. When you get those letters out, you are to contact your local Sherriff and or Police Department in your County and get asn Officer to come out and take a written report. Do not let them tell you they can ": not ". It is your right to file a complaint, which will be used later on in a Class Action Suit, and in complaints being filed with The Attorney General's Office in Atlanta, and The County District Attorneys Office, as well as the other County Authorities. If they are calling you from out of State, nowe it becomes a FEDERAL issue.
