I recieved an email telling me that a new charge had been posted to my Discover card and then about an hour after that I got another one and the next day another one. When I logged on to my account, Discover had put a flag on it to call their Fraud Protection #. When I called, I was told that I had a $17.40 charge from USPS, a $1.00 charge from Google and an additional charge of $1 from Clarke. They immediately closed my account, will not charge me for the $19.40 and have sent my account to be investigated. The guy on the phone who was very nice/helpful told me that it is lucky that I checked my account and that I had notification emails set up because a lot of people don't check their statements and if I hadn't caught it that next month I may have had thousands of dollars of charges on my account. I guess thieves steal your credit card # and put through a series of "test" charges to see if you catch them... If you don't catch it you are at risk of possible fraudulent charges that could cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
