I was looking at house rentals. I clicked on a home that said you can rent to own your home for a low monthly payment and a small down payment for as little as whatever the amount said. I filled out a form for information. Said it was $1.00 fee. Then when I went into my bank statement a week later there was a $30.00 charge! I called the number asking exactly what service this was for and where did it say that I authorized them to deduct money from my account. I never did a get an answer or explanation - first they couldn't even find my name said I did not have an account so after 15 minutes or so they finally located it. At first they refused to refund my money, until I told them that i would report them to my bank as a scam. Was on the phone with some lady you could barely understand for 20 minutes or longer. I think they do it so you will hang up or just give up. After arguing and telling her I was going to the bank she then agreed to the refund and gave me a confirmation number.
It has been several weeks and still no refund. So I tried calling again - now it tells me this number is no longer in service. I am not sure what can be done but they need to be stopped. I am going to my bank and reporting what was done and the reason I didn't report this right away was because I had been given a confirmation number and was thinking it was resolved.
