Unrequested store credit card and bill after paying with Discover

I recently purchased xmas gifts and gave information to pay on my credit card (Discover) the information was put in and I assumed that the payment went through until I received my statement from discover card and then I received a bill and a credit card from Amazon which I never applied for. Today I called with an attempt to pay again explaining I did not ask for credit they claimed they could not put it through my card the number would not go through I called discover there is no problem I have sufficient amount left on my card to pay this. I feel this is wrong I refuse to pay Amazon credit card at 23%
