I received a letter that supposedly came from my USAA mortgage lender. When I called the phone number listed in the letterhead 1800-429-usaa, an operator with Assist 123 answered. She said that the number I dialed is out of service and that she would be able to connect me AND as a thank you for me calling today, I would receive a $100 gift certificate. I got instantly suspicious and hung up. Then I checked the number and this "Assist 123" online and found out that it is just a big scam.
