Went to CarVinHistory.com to try a 3 day trial version for $2.95. After signing up, was redirected to mydataone.com. When I tried to look up a VIN number, it did not give me a report. When the amount was billed to my account, it was listed as carvincheck.com. We tried to call the number listed to cancel the trial version several times over 2 days, phone didn't ring, but went directly to a message stating business hours. On the morning of the third day, before trial time was over, was charged $29.95 to Propertyhousevalue.com. This website doesn't even exist. The number listed for carvincheck.com on their website is a 866 number that when called states that the number has not been assigned yet.
Our bank informed us that this could end up happening every month even if we cancel the debit card due to the fact that this is a monthly subscription. Our only option to be completely safe from this scam is to close our bank account.
