I purchased two pairs of Ugg boots from what I thought was the official Ugg Australia site. This was the site I was directed to after Googling Ugg Australia. Apparently the site creator was very creative and a good scammer.in hindsight I will check the "Whois" site for the site registration info before anymore online purchases.
I paid $212.57 for a "sale". I received an email directly after my order from a place claiming to be sitesomplaint.com. They had my purchase information and claimed: "If you have any disputes about this transaction, please feel free to complain on http://Sitecomplaint.com in time.
We (http://Sitecomplaint.com) are the professional third party institution engaged in dealing with all disputes among sellers, payment processor and customers.
We'll try our best to help you until you are satisfied with it."
I thought this was a little strange.
I received my order very quickly in a very damaged box NOT an official Ugg box. The boot were very obviously fake. I have real ones to which I compared them and they failed every test.
I immediately went to the UGG site I had purchased them from and sent them an internal message asking for their shipping address so I could return the unsatisfactory product. I took a screenshot of my message to keep for my records. I also went to sitecomplaint.com and attempted to send them the same message. I was directed to send it to an email address which I did. These are the reponses I got eventually:
Hello,

Can you tell the more specific reason why you want to return them back? We'd like to know the reason so that we can do it better.
As you know, we can accept the parcel which is in the original parcel within one week. And I am afraid that you need to pay the returning shipping fee. It is about $30 for international shipping fee.
Wish you think twice. We are willing to apply a partial refund to you as a compensation if it is because the style is not fit or because of small quality problem.
We'd like to solve the problem friendly between you and us. Thanks£¡

I sent them another email after contacting my bank who told me that VISA could handle it only after I had returned the product to the seller. I asked for the shipping address - no negotiation and agreed that I would pay the return shipping fee. This was their reponse:

We have checked for you and it shows the seller has responded your compliant. Maybe you didn't receive it. The seller responded as the following: (They included the sellers original reply to me... Hmmm, how do they know what the seller wrote?)
I was very mad at this point and wrote another letter to both parties:
Hello,
Unfortunately neither you nor the seller has honoured my request for a shipping address. Of course I received the merchant's reply. If you look further down in this message and all messages I have sent you, you will see that I have included the original request and all subsequent replies. What's with the run around I'm getting? Are you not reputable business owners who do what they claim?"If you have any disputes about this transaction, please feel free to complain on http://Sitecomplaint.com in time. We at (http://Sitecomplaint.com) are the professional third party institution engaged in dealing with all disputes among sellers, payment processor and customers. We'll try our best to help you until you are satisfied with it." Those were your words of reassurance that you claim to assist customers with disputes. All I want is an address, not games. Either your or the merchant can send me the shipping address. Not bounce my request back and forth. I began this process the day I received the merchandise. It has been a very frustrating process. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Is that so hard to understand. The only way I can do that is if I return the merchandise. The only way I can do that is if I have the correct address in english to send it to. Please do what you claim to do and assist me with this problem. The merchant has not helped at all. They just ask questions and evade my request. I am sending a copy of this to the merchant as well as you. Somebody PLEASE send me the address so I can ship back the unsatisfactory merchandise.

This was the seller's response:

Thank you for your letter, but quite sorry to hear that.

We can guarantee the quality. Pls rest assured. All our shoes are made according to the standard list. As you know, the price of our shoes have been very cheap and there is no profit at all. The price is almost half of that in the outlet. We also wear our UGG boots in winter. It is very warm and fashionable. All our boots are serviceable boots and can be worn for several years. Pls rest assured.

If we sent the wrong shoes, we certainly will offer the compensation, but if it is not our fault, we are afraid that afford the shipping fee again beacause we have offered free shipping last time. You know that the international shipping fee is expensive. It is $25-30 per pair...

We will take active action to solve this matter friendlywithout any dispute in this transaction. After all, if you apply any dispute to your bank or credit card company, the chargeback record will effect your personal credit.

How about I try my best to apply a partial refund for you? According to our company's regulation, we can only a 10% of your original total amount, but considering your special condition and given that you are our regular customer, I apply to my manager and he agrees to refund you 15%. If you accept my suggestion, we will refund you the money immediately.

Site complaint sent me a copy of their original response instead of a resolution.

I still have the boots, the bank said that they have to be returned for them to take action. I have no address to return them to. I checked on "Whois" re both sites and the information provided in their registration is very difficult to understand. I also noticed that they only just registered their site in OCTOBER!
I just want to return the items and get a refund. I will continue to send them messages but I feel very discouraged and stupid for falling for this scam!
