I was contacted by financial services on my cell phone about helping me with a mortgage modification. I asked the woman did i call her, she chuckles and says, "you or someone on your behalf". I had just purchased a car, so i figured maybe the dealership shared my info with them. As we talked i just kept getting this feeling that it may not be legit, but against my judgment i agreed to do the modification with them. I didn't want to lose my home and it was taking my mortgage company so long to approve me for a modification, just i jumped the gun. After receiving some info from my mortgage company the next day about modification scams, i immediately called financial services to cancel the modification with them. Of course i get an answering machine and i get transferred a few times before i talked to the person who got this thing rolling in the first place. She tried to convince me to keep the modification, she even tried the impending doom tactic of me losing my home. But insisted to cancel the modification, she seemed angry and took it kind of personal, but she said that she is canceling the modification. Well, two weeks later i get a bill from Conrad Acceeptance in the amount of 735.00 for service that was suppose to be canceled. I called Conrad Acceptance and the woman says that she needs proof that i canceled, she needs something in writing, which financial services did not tell me. I have yet to receive any proof that i canceled. It looks to me that they are trying to strong arm me to pay for a service that has not been rendered. I refuse to pay them and i have reported them to the bbb and ftc.
