I recieved a letter in the mail stating that I had been chosen to be one of their secret shoppers along with a check for $ 1,995. It stated to go to the website to activate the check then wait for the funds to become available. Being skeptical about a scam I waited 24 hours before going to the bank to withdrawl the funds to perform the tasks listed on the website. The bank easily let me withdrawl the money and I went to work. However the next day
I get a call from the bank stating that the check never cleared and the funds were not available. When I asked the bank why they would release money that was not available they told me it was probably because I had been a trusted customer for years. Though it sounds more like the bank made the mistake they are still holding me responsible for paying that money back. I first reported this to the Fbi and then my local police department though I don't expect anything to actually come out of it.
