The alleged scammer sent me a survey check for approx $1490 that i deposited into my Chase account. It turns out the check was fraudulent and now Chase is hammering me with NSF charges and overdraft fees. The check came from an H&Y Federal Credit Union 21 Route 17 North Rochelle Park, NJ 07662 and Chase contacted the maker and was advised the check is fraudulent. Chase holds me accountable for this and my checking account is in the process of closing. I called the business, Consumer Research Center, Inc. 28 West 44th Street NY, NY 10036 818-813-8124 and spoke with Sharon who lied and said the check was good for the survey. I called back several times after that and I've been hung up on. I want my monies for NSF charges, other fees, etc. I even sent a letter to them last week and advised they had 5 business days to send me a money order or certified funds. I don't understand what purpose it served to send a phony check knowing that they aren't benefiting from this at all. The bottom of the letter from Consumer Research is signed by Henry Vermeullen which I believe is a lie.
