I applied via internet for an office assistant position. I recieved an e-mail the next day letting me know they were interested in hiring me, but I needed to finish the application process online. I was directed to click a link that took me to a questionaire that asked about my qualifications. I have filled out questionaires more... Lengthy for jobs before, so didn't question this at all. Then it asked me to click another link because they needed a background check, and a credit report for verification. Now, I have worked with vulnerable seniors before, and they will ask for a background / credit check permission, to make sure i'm not desperate or something. But these guys wanted me to do this FOR them! A legitamate company has this access, and does NOT ask you to do it for them. The 1st thing that ran through my mind was that they are after my info. So I tried to send an e-mail to the person who contacted me (to let them know that I thought they should do this themselves). Steve Hitchens is his name and my mail was returned so fast, I could not believe it!
