Miscellaneous

I called the number on TV on 9/24 and ordered the two-for-one special. The price was 19.99 for two cans with 9.99 each shipping and handling. That totals 39.97. The 09/25 charge was 79.78. The credit card merchant name is SRP*FLEX SEAL. I called the customer service line at the credit card and they tell me that, since it's in the "Temporary Authorizations" portion of the account activity report, it may not be the correct amount. They suggest that I wait 3-5 business days until it moves to "Posted Activity". If it's still 79.78, I can dispute it and no interest accrues nor do they pay the merchant until it's resolved. There is absolutely no way to reach Flex Seal. The main website sells the product. That one has a "customer service" link. The link takes you to another site that sells the product. That one has a "Contact Us" link. The link takes you to another copy of the second site. Then, when you try to close that one, it yakes you through the same aggravating sequence as the phone process for ordering the stuff and tries to sell you more stuff. Windows Task Manager took care of that.
I'm going to watch and wait to see what the posted charge is. If it's 39.97, no sweat. If it's still 79.78, the credit card gets instructed to dispute the charge. My State Attorney General will also get involved.
