Miscellaneous

We were contacted by Alex Cain from Global Marketing Solutions to sell our timeshare in Mexico. We were told no money upfront and they would receive their 5% after we received our funds. Scott Thompson called us with an offer from a seller and we accepted. We signed a contract. After a few weeks we were informed that we needed to pay taxes to the Mexican government. The money had to be transferred to Bannamax Bank. We hesitated and did not send the money right away. We received an email from Scott threatening us with legal action and fees if we did not comply. After a conversation with Jim Burgen we sent the money believing at that point we had no choice. We were told we would have our funds from the sale in 72 hours. We made several attempts to call and got only voice messages. A week later we received a phone call from Scott telling us to send an additional amount of money for federal taxes. He told us that he and Mr. Burgen had gone to Mexico to find out why there was another tax. He told us that a new federal tax law had be imposed and they were not aware of it. They had made the trip to Mexico to negotiate reinbursement of all taxes paid. We sent the money. After another week we received an e-mail telling us to sent an additional amount of money for escrow taxes. We did not comply again making calls to Mr Burgen or Mr Thompson with no answer. We finally heard from them and was told the same story this was new. We now realize that what we suspected all along was true we were involved in a scam. If anyone else has been involved in the same situation please post a complaint.
