The underground shopper scam did occur, but Paladin Consulting, Inc. Was the victim. I worked at Paladin in that time, and they are a credible, reputable company. The crime ring in Canada, stole Paladin's identity and harmed several people using the Paladin Research Center name. They sent bogus checks that looked like Paladin Consulting, Inc's checks. Paladin reported this to the FBI and Canadian authorities.
This crime ring was eventually caugh and reported on Foxnews!
