I requested a pay off for our timeshare. I was given a pay off amount of 924.17 within 3 days I paid that entire amount. I went to the customer site to make sure that my timeshare had a zero balance to my surprise there was a principal balance still showing of 150.00. I contacted Marriotts Finance department and a young man told me that they were holding my 150.00 until they received a recording fee of 40 something dollars. I asked him to apply my 150.00 and if I owed anything else for a recording fee that would be separate. He refused to release my 150.00 and I believe there is someone in that office stealing from me and other Marriott timeshare owners.
