I am a business owner. I have a tax office in the city of rialto which i have owned for the past 20 years. I was billed for my unsecured property taxes the sum of $72.44
for some reason i forgot to send my mail on time and sended 1 week late. For this, the county is charging me double the taxes i owed. I think this is "roberry" the county is taking advantage of any situation to charge double or triple what you owe, even if you are just a few days late. They colllect what ever they want to charge the public, this is outrageous and something has to be done to stop this outright theft. I sincerely hope you could do something to expose these bad practices. I tried calling them, finally after 2 hours of trying a got to talk to a live person and she told me that there was nothing she could do, that the only thing to do was to pay the total fee. I think this should be "unlawfull". Thank you in advance for any kind of help you could provide to this helpless citizen and other citizens as well.

Ps.
My parcel # is 013-061-06-p008. My bill was due on 08/31, i send payment on 09/06. For this my tax was doubled.
