United States Credit?

This date may not be exact and I'm not quite sure it is a SCAM but it is very suspicious.
I received a phone message from a "Javarus" (?) who said he was calling on behalf of United States Credit and that it looked like a couple of my credit cards may be vunerable, or something like that. He slurred a few words there, including "Vunerable". He left a phone number (561-4205) which I called, foolishly I feel. I was told, by the operater, that this was a "non-operational number". So I just ignored the message until, in talking with my neighbor a few days later, she mentioned she received the same phone call. Is this a Scam, do you know?
