This management company was brought in after a self-appointed Condo Board was found out and voted out of office. But before we were able to do so, self appointed board doubled condo fees and hired management company without unit owners voting on either.
This company's rep. Richard Markum, told us that an audit was in order but refused to do so when this was brought up at the annual meeting. Self appointed, ousted board members, nominated and voted in a friend that just picked up where they left off. After one unit owner was behind in condo fees. The management company went into a payment arrangement with said owner, but when an LLC expressed interest in buying that property, mangement company renegged on arrangement. She sold that property to this LLC. The name of the purchaser was/is the condo Board presidents life partner. The President took possession of said unit, contrary to by-laws. I was in a similar predicament before new president, and paid huge condo and legal fees. The self-appointed Treasurer at that time, didn't even own a unit in the complex. And when I tried to refinance to pay off debt, she told the company that I was in foreclosure and they dropped me like a hot potato. That is when I got all unit owners together and voted out that board. Capstone Management has enabled these crooked owners to continue with the B.S. We now have an alliance with ctcondoowners.com. They can guide owners to state agencies that can help where even the attorney generals office can't. The fight continues and has been on-going for 5 years now.
