I've been working for the "CEO" of this company for a little over a month. When the interview was supposed to happen, he kept canceling and we never ended up meeting in person. Despite that, I was able to telecommute and do the work from home, because I had to advertise the studio/keep up with emails/bring new clients in/create social networking sites. Over the first few weeks he (the owner of the studio) kept telling me that he had to pay me for all the hard work I've done and that he didn't want me to think I was working for free. So about a week later I informed him that I will be needing my paycheck within the next two weeks. Over the hurricane weekend I kept trying to contact him (calling, texting, messaging) and finally DAYS later, he texts me with a simple "What". I tell him I need my money and he says "I told you to be patient and bear with me, I'm in the hospital, blah blah blah". #1 He never said to be "patient" he always made it seem like he had the money ready to go because he kept telling me to get my PayPal verified so he can send me the money (which I did way ahead of time and let him know, multiple times). #2 How am I supposed to know what's going on in his life? I'm his EMPLOYEE, that he always fails to update! So he insults me some, calls me rude, tells me I'm causing drama and I simply say "I'm not causing drama, I simply want my well earned money". I tell him I'm expecting the money within the next two days (which is plenty of time IF he has the money, if he doesn't WHY did he hire me in the first place?). He says "You don't give me no deadline, I'll deal with you when I do". Of course, that's un-acceptable and I state (multiple times) I'm expecting the money in two days. He says he'll call me and he asks if it's alright to transfer the money from his bank account (again making me think that he will do it). I text him the day AFTER I was supposed to receive the money and I tell him that I'm tired of asking and he should really act like an professional (maybe he should act like an adult first) and that if I don't receive the money I will file a claim. All he says is "File a claim".
