I purchased a Toshiba Laptop, based upon their email advertisement. I was attracted by the $299.00 offer due to my limited disability income. During my conversation with the sales agent, I was ASSURED that the model was the same as the one I previously owned, and was programmed with the basics; access to the Internet as well as Word Processing. Due to the isolation often accompanied with disability, I stressed the essential need for the basics, which allow for networking; obtaining information not always disclosed by Human Services; and the availability of home-based sources of income. I was also assured it was new, and not refurbished. I naively trusted the integruity of Toshiba, altho the sales rep continuously skirted my questions, by referring to the last day of the sale, which it was not. Upon receiving the laptop, it was obvious that it was NOT NEW; the protective film on the screen was absent, and with use of the product, several quirks included the spontaneous opening and closing of windows, and uncontrollable movements of the cursor. Worst of all, was the limited sample use of Word, which requires an expensive purchase of a producy key for future use. I can no longer access my documents. Which is incomprehensible! As a remedy, I am demanding the product key free of charge at minimum. Sincerely, Barbara Peradeze. I anxiously await your reply. The level of stress triggers a flare-up of intolerable symptoms as well.
