I saw a nice flat for rent in the Milton Keynes local paper and called up Michael Graham's Northampton office. I visited the place with Antoinette Givant (Senior Negotiator) the following Saturday, and liked it. I paid £200 deposit and £35 administration fee (I think)
Various checks where completed, which where quite thorough - contacting my Employer, my current landlord, looking at my bank statements, and I guess some credit-checks.
I received and email with a copy of an acceptance letter on 22 August saying I should pay £1312 before meeting a representative at 4:30pm on 05/09 and going through the flat-audit (being one months rent at £550 and 6 weeks returnable deposit).
Then I got a call from Antionette on the 23 August after lunch saying something had come up at the eleventh hour with my credit-check, and I would need to supply a Guarantor. I refused and asked what the problem was, and if I could get a copy of the credit check. That was not company policy. I was then asked to pay more money – which I also refused.
