Parliament Apartments
Ripoff and assault with form of discrimination

Miscellaneous

I have rented the apartment during six monts at Parliament. Lease agreement states that dogs of any type, weight, height and mostly all breeds accepted. I paid a non-refundable deposit for my dog. The manager never notified me about any complaints regarding anything until I stopped by the office one time to ask a question.

Only then complaints were brought up and most of them were false statements. One was that my dog is out on the balcony without the leash and without control. Another was that dog is always running and barking at home. I had to record my dogs behavior to prove myself (it wasn't true either). Manager stated that it is a quiet community therefore I had to do something about the dog.

Every other apartment has a dog or three to my knowledge and it is a clear fact that it cannot be a quiet community. I had to get rid of the dog for a month. Now that I am wanting to move to another building I am not allowed to choose the floor I want to live on because my dog seems to be a problem. I am forced to live on the first floor and pay a new dog deposit again with rent.

This is not acceptable, because nowhere in the lease it states that I can't move to the floor I prefer.
Another issue is that I have a friend that comes over once in a while. Well, every time I had to have maintenance come in I would ask her to stay at my apartment for privacy reasons. I didn't feel comfortable having maintenance entering my property without my presence. Plus, I had a dog. This wasn't addressed to me prior to me moving to the different building and almost caused me to move out from complex.

I was told by the property manager that several times that maintenance enetred the property my friend would walk around naked. Then manager addresed to me that it must be normal to walk around naked for Russians in front of everyone. Today I had a final inspection done and I had to ask my relative to come at 8am (driving for 45min) to be present. My friend has been offended and assaulted in a false statement and is willing to take it further.

In addition to this, I am a full-time student that works full-time as well. I have only Sunday off and I received a last minute complaint from manager that my music was playing too loud. First of all, these apartments were built in 1988 and there is no isolation what so ever. I can hear everything that my neighbors do.

Secondly, my and other building are facing each other and this causes echoing. Several times I heard music coming from other neighbors and have a feeling that it was addressed to me. Manager refuses to hear me out by interrupting me and just stating her point with threats and offenses. I am willing to negotiate any possible way and she is not.
