I received a cashier's check for the amount of $2,400, along with a letter instructing me to make 2 Western Union money transfers in the amount of $1,800, plus the $150 service fee. The letter also advised I could keep $300 & purchase items totaling $150.

I have been a police officer for 12 yrs & have seen this scam too many times to count. There are many unscrupulous people out there looking to take advantage of trusting people or people that have NO COMMON SENSE!!! As the old saying goes... If it's too good to be true, it probably is! Tear the check up & thank God you did research before becoming another victim. It just makes no sense that someone who doesn't know you at all would send you $2,400! Just spare yourself the hassel & ask yourself if you would do what these people are asking you to do.
