Not a Reputable Company/Scam Artist

Called BJ TV Repair originally on May 28th. He came the same day, and introduced himself as Jimmy or Jim. After eveluating the TV, he said the bulb was bad. I had ordered a bulb off of EBAY, and he said my bulb was junk and that I needed a MFG Bulb. He quoted me a price of 210.00 for the bulb. He also said my Ballast was bad, and would need to be replaced. He said it would take 5-7 days to get part, but I would need to write him a check for the parts. I wrote him a check for 265.00 and cash of 200.00. After numerous times calling him, he finally returned my call and said that the part was in, and scheduled a time to come.

I had to leave work to meet him at 10:00am on June 8th. He replaced the ballast, and put the new bulb in. We tested the TV, and it still did not work. He said that the Main Power Supply is bad, and he would order it, and it would take 5-7 days to come in. I paid him 200.00 for the Power Supply, and he came 3 days later on June 11th to pick up TV. He wanted to make sure everything worked fine. He had the TV 2 weeks, and delivered it on 6/25 to my house. He turned on the TV, and it took some time for it to turn on. He asked for an additional 280.00 dollars in Labor charges and trip charges, so I wrote him a check. He told me if I had any problems to call him and he would come out and resolve the problem.

On July 4th after my Landlord left back to California, I noticed the TV was flashing a red/green light signifying a problem. I went to turn TV on, and there was no picture, sound only. So I called BJ TV Repair again, and he said he would come out to look at it. He came to the house on July 6th, pulled the bulb out, and he noticed it was shattered/damaged. He said it probably got bad from when they were testing the power supply constantly inserting the bulb in and out. He took the bulb, said he would have to send back to MFG, and request a replacement. 3 days later, he called me saying he wanted to test the TV, to see why the Bulb was burning out. He wanted to test the TV. He picked up the TV with another guy on July 9th, and said he would call me when the TV was fixed. 2 weeks went buy, and I contacted him. He said the bulb hasn't come in yet, and he would call me. He did say they tested the TV, and it is the bulb only.

Another week went by, and I tried calling him again, and his phone just goes to a message stating he has not set up his voicemail yet. I sent him numerous texts/messages and finally on July 22th at 4:00pm, he called me back stating he was having issues with his phone. He said the bulb should be there on 7/25 or 7/26. On 7/26 I called him, and he said the bulb was not in yet, and he would contact me as soon as it did. That was the last time I heard from Jin or Jimmy, whatever his name is. After googling the business and his phone numbers, it turns out that he has done this to many others before. He probably uses the TV's he takes for parts to repair other TV's. He is nothing but a SCAMMER, and DO NOT TRUST HIM. Call some reputable company to verify there reputation. Also, I noticed on the cancelled checks I got from the bank, He does not have a bank account, he cashes them at Check City. I will involve the police, and believe me, they will catch him. Check City needs ID to cash checks, so eventually Jimmy or Jin Seo will be caught. Thank You.
