Laura Schrader Refuses to pay to work preformed as an employe

I had worked for this company alittle over a year ago for just a short time. Laura was really good to work for as she didn't hoover over my shoulder all day. Something had happened to me preventing me from working for a month due to an injury so we had talked and I decided she should hire a replacement employe cause she still had a bussiness to run and I could not preform my duties. I had left on good terms and planned on returning as soon as I could. We had emailed eachother about getting my last pay check and agreed on picking it up on a Friday after which I had not heard from her again. I had called and emailed repeatedly to no avail. Recently I had decided to contact her again before I took action to get paid for the work I had preformed as her employe and she had emailed back. We came to a happy agreement to settle the matter for less money than was owed. Time has passed and she said she was sending out the check but now she is back to not returning my hopeless attempt to contact her reguarding this matter. Now I am left with now choice but to file complaints and go virial with this. The next step is to take it to small claims court. I work hard for my money and being self employed now I get screwed often so I am not new to the civil court system. Contractors should not hire people they have no intentions of paying. I always pay my help even when I dont get paid.
