Ashley Furniture Final Payment Unprocessed, $39 Late Fee Looms

I mailed my final payment on an Ashley Furniture bill. I mailed it in plenty of time to get to the processing center. The check hasn't cleared my bank, and Citi customer service said they are separate from payment processing.

They deliberately don't process payments to try to add a $39.00 late fee. This was the final balance, and this has happened before. These are very bad business practices. I wish some agency would prosecute these companies for preying on people.

They also want to charge $18.00 to make an online payment.
