A heartless employer that is unprofessional and discriminates against the military Austin

I worked for Kreamer Marketing Group for about 8 months. I am also part time in the military, so occasionally I had to fulfill my military duty, (which was on my resume when I was hired) and take time off from my job. All of it was military related with orders and it was a very little amount of time. I even missed some of my drills because I had to work.

My husband is also in the military and he was shipped off to Iraq back in April.in December he had the opportunity to come home for two weeks after being away at war for almost ten months. I asked for some time off (unpaid) so that I could be with my husband. I was told that I have taken plenty off time off for all of my "Army Crap" and that she just could not do it, but I could understand from her viewpoint, and that I needed to get my priorities straight.

While at a WEEKEND confrence " Dallas Leaders Meeting" the question was raised how do you balance family life and professional life. One of the VPs answered, "you don't, they become one. Your professional life becomes your personal life and your personal life becomes your professional life. Don't tell your wife you will be home at a certain time, because you probably won't be there. Don't try to make all of the baseball games, because you are going to miss them.

Keep in mind that in the particular job field, there is no sick days and no vacation time. When someone sick and I mean truely sick they were given a hard time for not coming in. There was an instance at another confrence in Alanta when I passed out and spent the night in the hospital, when I missed the confrence the next day because I got out of the hospital at 6:00 and the confrence was at 8:00 I was given a hard time.

At that same confrence one of the gentlemen that I trained was having a hard time finding an apartment. She told me, knowing that my husband was deployed, that I should offer my male co-worker a place to sleep. I said I would talk to my husband first and she made me feel guilty for not thinking of my team.

There were many instances where Amy Kreamer acted very unprofessional in frount of her employees. About once a week she would go out with the office, sometimes new employees and get hammered. She cussed out many of her employees, and hired some male employees based on the fact that she thought they were "hot."
