I cannot speak for other campuses, but I can state facts about the DuBois MCadd program. First of all the advertisement of "using the industry's most advanced computerized drafting systems to help create tomorrow's manufactured products" could be nothing more than false. It is 2010 and they are teaching AutoCad 2007 (and that doesn't include 3D)... The schools computer lab is so outdated the computers can barely handle the software, just look at the dates on the back of them. Myself in particular have experienced software problems causing my computer to freeze up (sometimes for weeks at a time) and they did nothing to fix the problem and laughed at me, Yes the Director, Assistant Director, and even the teachers. No I was not even given extra time on assignments. Tuition has increased every semester and yet not one dime has been put back into the school... Talk about investing in your future. This place refused to buy paper when they ran out, students still had to hand in drawing assignments and had to purchase there own (this went on for like two months). The school even had an architectural firm give a presentation at the school and the class was informed that we were barely marketable at best. If you don't believe me research it, numbers don't lie. On another note, a qualified teaching staff is desperately needed. They don't tell you in advance that the only requirement to teach there is that you have either graduated from there or have two years experience in that field. Very few actually teach, the "hands on experience" they talk about is b.S. All classes are OVERWHELMED with book work, with assignments out the wazzu. I saved the whole cadd curriculum for proof, and yes they due teach lessons from the 1940's-1980's - it is at the bottom of the pages, and no it is not just reference material. You will do EXTENSIVE board drawing, I can see maybe term one for the basics but c, mon 3 terms worth. If you ever consider attending this school ask if you can read one of there course cyllubuses, you will see that the curriculum is not very student friendly, (every one likes a challenge though right). Make no mistake, this staff is not there to help you in any way, shape, or form. The only time you will get acknowledged by the staff is when they want to ask you for money for "student council." No, there job guarantee is false, they were proud of around 10% job placement in drafting, and no it is not because of the economy. With all this negativity let us close with a laugh. If you ever tour this place ask if you can look at the student bathrooms. If this isn't enough to make you shake your head, laugh and walk out the door then I wish you the best.By the way, save 20 bucks to get your degree, 30 some thousand dollars and you have to purchase your degree... Get the facts before you sign!!! Parents of future students, adult learners, and all inquiring minds — don't be fooled!!
