I was looking for a kindle and came upon this site which advertised the opportunity to place a bid. On the website it has the statement “Register Now, It is completely free”. I entered the information requested and proceeded to bid for some bid packages which cost under $1.00. I did not personally select any bid packages. To my surprise, my credit card statement showed an additional charge for $99.

When I contacted the company to dispute the charge, I was told that they could not refund my money, but offered me additional bids (“But what I have gone ahead and done for the inconvenience, is give you 120 additional bonus bids which is a $80 value. These bids have already been added to your account.”) In my note, I also asked them to terminate my account, but their response did not acknowledge this.instead they offered the above.

I did not authorize this charge.
