Swiping Driver License

Please help me in my fight. I was purchasing a game rated R and the asked to see my dr lic. I get that even though at 53 they clearly know I am over 18. They asked me to remove it so that they can swipe it in their system! WHAT? They are asking for all the info that is located on the black strip used primarily for police! They have no right to get my social security and any other personal info stored there. What if I did not drive? The employee said: I guess you are buying it then" and proceeded to the next in line. I later found out that a manager can over ride it if you show you are over 18. Your birthyear is in your lic # so they need nothing more.
