My son had an accident with my car on May 13. Although I had full coverage, progressive would not pay because my son was using the car to deliver a pizza and according to my policy, underknown to me, I am not covered if the car is being used to deliver goods or services. Although I was quite unhappy, I had to accept this decision. My car was a total loss so now I am stuck with a $6600.00 balance on my loan and no car.

I turned in the plates for the car on May 26 and called Progressive to remove the car from the policy on May 27. I was instructed to fax the paper that I received from motor vehicle to them and they would remove the car from the policy as of May 26. Today I look at my checking account and progressive insurance company has deducted $395.00 from my checking account - the preium amount for 2 cars. My car that I surrendered the plates on they are still charging me insurance for. I immediately called and was told it was an error and the car would be removed immediately.

Now I want my money back. It is a total of $160.91 that I was overcharged. I was told it would take 10 days for the money to be refunded to me. I said that was unacceptable and was told I needed to speak to a supervisor. This is when I spoke to Linda. She told me that it was not an error on their part. That my son had the accident at a bad time (didn't know there was a good time to have a car accident), I surrendered the plates too close to the Memorial Day Holiday (my premium was due right after the holiday). Now my premium is due on the first of the month. June 1st was a wednesday. Tuesday May 31 my car should have been removed. After all the money and aggravation that progressive has caused me, the least they can do is reimburse me the $160.91 immediately. They will not do it. I have to wait until June 13 for my money. UNACCEPTABLE.
