Refusal to Assist with Defective Product

I asked for assistance from this shoe company in regards to a pair of their shoes finish areas pealing away on only one shoe. I was told that I should "retire" them from use. I have a special medical need for this brand of shoe. They costs @ @250.00 per pair. I cannot understand why they will not help me with replacement or repair, as I a purchased three other pairs after this pair in hopes of having a bit more variety for wear, given my disability. I am still hoping the company will stand behind their product and soon.
